Working Royals have been writing and playing for decades… just not always with each other. Although the band lives in both Vancouver and Toronto, these longtime friends maintain a close cross-country connection at all times. After years of back and forth chats, exchanging song ideas, dreaming and planning, Working Royals founding members Zach Kellum, Ben Finkleman and Paul Meehan decided it was time to get together to write, record and produce an album of new songs… Songs that have lived in their heads and in their voice memos for far too long.
Lots of great late night sessions in Vancouver with some of the country's best players have produced something very cool… All tunes were written, rehearsed, and committed to tape, live off the floor over some very special evenings. The vibes have been incredible, and there's much more to come.
The Working Royals' sound is the result of a long standing love affair with 70’s & 80’s rock of all types & the combined effort of some great musicians, engineers and producers. Zach, Ben, & Paul share a passion for the popular, obscure, dreamy, road-trip worthy, beach day, rainy day, city at night tunes that get under your skin and live there forever. Their mission is to create classics that will outlive the reign of Working Royals.
